Ghostbox is a collaborative dance performance piece, photographic research series, and live sound installation created by Camille Lacelle-Wilsey and Eryn Tempest, with music by Charles Marsolais-Ricard. It explores the nature of ghost stories and how the supernatural fills gaps in our conception of reality. Ghostbox investigates the methods and mechanisms of photographic and cinematic processes in relation to notions of transformation and interference. It takes the aesthetic and experiential tone of the darkroom as a point of departure for the exploration of body states that are constituted by anticipation, unease, and vacancy. It engages with the media of photography and motion picture as documents that capture images of the past and thus elicit experiences of nostalgia and longing.
